An emotional public hearing ended in chaos late Wednesday night, 10/17/07, after 11:00pm, without a vote by the Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors. Approval for a new Fluvanna County high school was put off for at least a week. They need $75 million for a high school and auxiliary gym which would be built in three years.
Lake Monticello now has almost 4,000 homes and many residents have school-age children.
Taxes are far less in Fluvanna County than in other areas nearby, so there is room to raise taxes, and all can benefit.
Education is important. Fluvanna is growing and needs more schools.
