"Green Is In" in Charlottesville! Many builders are utilizing new ways to build, including
Barry Meade building in Westhall, west of town, at $300,000 & up; Avon Park in Albemarle County only 10 minutes to UVA at $439,000 & up; Lake Monticello a 4,000 home community with golf, tennis, clubhouse and 250 acre lake at $279,900 & up; Boxwood, a new neighborhood at $419,900; Deer Lake Estates in Greene County; Proffit Ridge by Dominion Development has a $1,000,000+ home; also Artisan Homes, Doug Lowe is doing "green" commercial as well as "green" residential homes.

Building a green home is more expensive but the buyer will receive lower utility costs & much more, not to mention helping the environment.

There is a new real estate designation called "Eco Broker" that I will be taking shortly to learn even more about green, environmentally-friendly housing.
